What Motivates You?

I've always been motivated by stability and getting to that point by my own means. There's something that has always struck me about independence. I don't know where it comes from. I come from a long line of co-dependent, heterosexual, white people who never get divorced whether they should or not. I've never been satisfied by a handout. Hard work has always been part of the reward. My goal is to end up self-sufficient, in charge of my own future, and feel fulfilled by doing it. Finding motivation can sometimes be a struggle for me since I'm not really the jealous type. I don't typically see others living a type of way and say "I would die to have that life", I'm more of a "What would I need to make me glow that way?" kind of girl. A lot of my feelings about motivation probably fall back a bit on my relationship with control and trust. I've never really been one to trust someone else with my future, it feels reckless to live that way.
